Blount Offers One-of-a-Kind Experiences and Small Ship Cruising Amenities
Blount Small Ship Adventures , which offers authentic small ship cruising excursions, invites travelers to partake in a one-of-a-kind experience that cannot be found elsewhere.
With the ability to slip under low bridges, navigate narrow waterways and make bow landings on the shores of picturesque beaches, Blount vessels provide an intimate look into an array of locations in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. The Blount Small Ship Adventures difference offers guests a personal experience in a casual environment, through a variety of exclusive small ship cruising amenities and excursions at an affordable price.
Blount vessels are distinctively equipped with special features invented by Luther H. Blount, which can’t be found on any other cruise vessel. The patented bow ramps onboard the Grande Caribe and Grande Mariner allow passengers to disembark directly from the ship to secluded beaches and in the heart of small ports that are not typically accessible by cruise vessels. Both ships are also equipped with a retractable pilot house, allowing the two vessels to navigate waterways that the bigger ships simply cannot get to. As a result of this feature, Blount ships are the only overnight cruising vessels able to navigate places like the historic Erie Canal and the Rio Dulce.
“The Blount experience is truly about creating an authentic journey to places others can’t reach,” says President, Nancy Blount. “As a family-run business for over 48 years, we’ve designed our onboard and onshore activities to be entertaining and create memories only achievable through one-of-a-kind shared experiences.”
All Blount cruises include three meals daily with menus that are fresh, creative and often reflect the local cuisine, refreshments and snacks 24-hours a day, guest lecturers and workshops.
Guests are also invited to ‘bring your own bottle’ onboard, through Blount’s unique BYOB policy; this policy gives passengers the freedom to enjoy their preferred beverages without a costly bar tab at the trip’s end. Mixers, snacks, barware, refrigeration and bottle storage space are also provided around the clock, along with complimentary house wine and beer offered during lunch and dinner.
Blount also offers a number of pre-cruise and early arrival packages for guests looking to extend their trips, allowing travelers to arrive in port a day early and take in the sights. Pre-cruise packages start at $279 per person and include offerings such as overnight accommodations onboard or at a nearby hotel, one dinner and breakfast onboard, transfers, baggage handling and all taxes.
The pre-cruise packages are available on all itineraries departing from Belize City, Providence and Nassau, and offerings vary by departure city. The early arrival package starts at $150 per person and is available on all itineraries departing from Chicago, New York City, New Orleans, Montreal, Charleston and Jacksonville. This package allows guests to arrive in port and spend the night onboard the ship, with a complimentary dinner and breakfast the next day.
As a family-run business, Blount takes pride in making friends and family feel at home without breaking the bank. Blount offers a friends and family discount for guests who reserve two or more cabins on the same itinerary if at least one cabin’s guest is new to BSSA, by offering $100 off cruises running 10 days or less, and $250 off cruises running 11 days or more.
Guests who are traveling in a group of 10 or more can take advantage of a discounted group rate, and groups traveling in 15 or more will receive complimentary cruise fare for the 16th guest. Those who travel in a group of 30 or more will receive complimentary cruise fare for two.
