Star Clippers Gives Solo Travelers a Break: Discounts and No Single Supplement
Special deals plus no single supplement on popular Cruises to the Caribbean, Thailand, Singapore, Bali and Mediterranean
As a frequent solo traveler, I often come up against the dreaded single supplement, in hotels and certainly on cruise ships.
So I’m happy to report on the deals offered by the sailing ships of Star Clippers, which include 65 percent savings on over a dozen select sailings on a Star Clippers ship during 2017-2018– plus no single supplement fee . Destinations include the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Thailand, Singapore and Bali, with rates as low as $1,360.
In the winter of 2017-2018, there are roundtrip voyages from Barbados aboard the Royal Clipper, with a choice of three itineraries. Destinations in these Windward & Grenadine Island itineraries include Antigua, St. Vincent, Martinique, St. Kitts and St. Lucia, to name just a few.
The Star Flyer sets sail on the Treasure Island itinerary, roundtrip from St. Maarten with stops in Anguilla, St. Barts, St. Kitts and the Virgin Islands. Just one sailing is available, for the last week of March 2018. The Star Flyer provides a sailing experience likened to traveling on a private yacht. , this trip aboard the 16-sailed vessel will be a special one indeed.
Starting March 31 with a 20-night voyage from St. Maarten to Lisbon, Portugal, the Star Flyer embarks on a true sailing adventure, with 19 days at sea. Royal Clipper’s Mediterranean cruises start with an epic 28-night Eastbound Atlantic crossing, departing from Barbados and ending in Cannes. Additional five- to 14-night trips explore European ports in France, Corsica, Ibiza, Italy, Mallorca, Portugal, Spain–and the Strait of Gibraltar. Two itineraries feature stops in St. Tropez and Cannes; one of those offers guests a spot at the trial run of the famed Monaco Grand Prix.
In the Far East, Star Clipper sails four distinctive seven-night itineraries in Thailand and Singapore, from November 2017 to May 2018. Travelers can sail out of Singapore and explore Malaysia before sailing into Phuket, Thailand, or take the opposite route—from Phuket to Singapore—or can book a round trip that begins and ends in Phuket. Any of the itineraries allow ample time for exploring the tropical beaches, sacred temples, exotic jungles and cities of the region. This destination is also a diver’s paradise, and Star Clipper will have a dive master onboard to ensure a unique diving adventure.
